Volunteer Application

Congratulations for applying to be a volunteer on Team LC!

To keep Lauren staffed with the highest quality of people, there are several steps to the application process.

Step 1:  Complete and submit this application with references, work history, and volunteer history included.

Step 2: Within 10 days of application submission, Lauren or a Team LC staff member will contact you to inform you if you have advanced to the next step, which is an initial interview. The initial interview will be scheduled via email by a member of Team LC who will conduct the interview through Skype, FaceTime, Facebook messenger, or Zoom (whichever platform is best for you).

Step 3: Within 10 days of your initial interview, you will be notified if you have advanced to the next stage, an in-person interview with Lauren. You will receive an email with date, time options, and location. (This interview could be remote as well.)

Step 4: Within 10 days of your in-person interview, Lauren or a Team LC staff member will notify you regarding Lauren’s decision.

A few things to note:

  • Volunteers positions are generally aligned with the PCA role or a customized role rather than a health, therapy, or similarly “invasive” role. If you will be volunteering for an extended period of time (more than six months) for several hours per week and would like to discuss incorporating some of these functions into your position, please be specific about your desire so that Lauren can appropriately consider the possibility.

  • Volunteer openings are first come, first serve. Therefore, we ask that you do your part to complete each step efficiently. The 10 days between each step represents the maximum amount of time that Team LC will respond. The sooner you move through these steps, the faster we can decide if you will be a good fit on Team LC and if Team LC will be a good fit for you!

  • In order to get credit for any of your volunteer hours, you must be present for ALL of your scheduled volunteer shifts (excluding emergencies). Failure to show up or arrive on time for a volunteer shift could result in you not getting credit for any of your volunteer hours and being dismissed from the Team LC Volunteer Program.

  • If there are any emergencies or uncontrollable circumstances that arise during your application process, inform Lauren and her team via email. Lauren is willing to work with you as circumstances allow.

  • Each step is dependent on you passing through the prior step. Submitting an application does not guarantee you a spot on Team LC, nor does it guarantee you either the first or second interview. Lauren ultimately has the ability to choose who she feels will be an asset to Team LC and her life.

  • Should you be selected, you will begin training and enter a 2-3 week trial period. The purpose of the trial period is for Lauren and you to ensure that Team LC is the best fit for you. At the end of the trial period, Lauren will have a conversation with you about your future on Team LC!
